FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Nitehawks Finish 11th in USATF National Junior Olympic Cross-Country ChampionshipsDecember 12, 2005 The Nitehawks boys bantam (10 and under) cross-country team placed eleventh in the USA Track and Field (USATF) National Championship held Saturday, December 10th at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. Finishing with 270 points, the Nitehawks were 11th behind the Phoenix, AZ Blaze Track Club (54), the Irvine, CA Cougars (77) and the Manchester, NH Granite State Flash (127) . Running over the snow covered 3k (1.83 miles) course, the Nitehawks bantam boys were lead by USATF All American, Max Lachance, age 9 of Lunenburg finishing in 22nd place in 12:33. He was followed by Scott Brazina, age 10 of Carlisle (86th/13:09), Eli Bucher, age 9 of Wayland (151st/15:04), Arthur Whitehead age 10 of Concord (157th/15:10), Matthew Fischetti, age 9 of Groton (193rd/15:54), Randy Clark, age 9 of Carlisle (194th/15:55) and Anthony Aguirre , age 8 of Lexington (233rd/17:23). In addition, Corey Stock, age 11 of Lincoln ran in the girls midget (age 11-12) division finishing 68th over the same 3k course in 13:46. The Nitehawks are actively seeking track and field athletes (boys and girls from age 6 to 18) for the upcoming indoor and outdoor track season. For More Information Contact: |
