AAU Junior Olympics District ChampionshipThis is the qualifier for the AAU Junior Olympics National Championships! The AAU National Championships this year are in Decatur, AL on December 6. The top twenty finishers and the top three teams in each class qualify for nationals. Unlike the USATF, the AAU does not have a regional qualifier meet so you qualify directly from this meet to the national championships. The AAU uses single-year age groups, so that you only compete against other athletes born in the same year as you.You will compete as individuals for the Nitehawks, but we also want to have teams in as many age groups as possible. If you have any friends who like to run, ask them to join the Nitehawks.
Course DescriptionThe course is a combination of pavement and grass with a variety of hills. Waffles or racing flats are recommended. Course length is determined by age class. Primary (2000 and after) run 2k (1.24 miles). Bantam (1998/1999) and Midget (1996/1997) run 3k (1.86 miles). Youth (1994/1995) run 4k (2.49 miles).
