Hershey Games

Local, district, state and provincial track & field meets are held in each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada. State/provincial finalists are eligible for selection to regional teams. To ensure fair representation of participants, a minimum of five finalists are selected from each state or province to participate in the Hershey's North American Finals Meet at Henry Hershey Field, Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Athletes compete in age/gender groups that are based on year of birth.  The Hershey Games use the same age categories as the USATF, except that the maximum age for participation is 14 and the minimum age is nine. 

Winners of the local qualifier events advance to the state meet.

Not every winner at the State/Provincial Final will automatically advance to the North American Final due to the geographical distribution rule which states that a minimum five participants from each State/Provincial Group will compete in the North American Final. A participant may enter only one Local and/or District Meet. All regional winners will qualify for the North American Final Meet.

Note: Athletes cannot where spikes at the Hershey meets!

Start Time

The local qualifier meets begin at 6:00pm, except Leominster which begins at 5:00pm.  The state meet begins at 10:00am.

Registration

Use Find My Event on the Hershey website to locate a local meet for your town. 

Local events require advance registration. To register, click on the Local Entry Form, print form and complete information. Some meets are limited to participants that reside within the identified communities. Please contact the meet coordinator to confirm participation or to receive instructions to forward entry form, if needed.

Events

Track events:  50 meter dash (9-10 only), 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run (11-14 only), 1600 meter run (13-14 only) and 4x100 meter relay.

Field events:  Softball throw and standing long jump.
