Outdoor Track and Field

Our outdoor track season is from March to August.  This season is split into two sessions:  spring (March to Mid-May) and summer (Mid-May to August).

The spring calendar is available now.  These calendars are subject to change, but they will give you a good idea of what to expect.  Remember that all of our practices and meets are optional.  There is no minimum level of participation required.  Please join us whenever you can!

The club is divided into six groups based on year of birth and USATF and AAU regulations.

Spring Schedule

Primary, Bantam, and Midget

All track and field events are introduced to this group and they receive training for each event. Emphasis is placed on developing endurance and speed. Athletes may pick events they like best to concentrate on throughout the season.

The events include dashes  (50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, hurdles), mid-distance/distance (800m, 1500m, 3000m), race walking, relays (4x100m, 4x400m, 4x800m), jumps (high, standing broad, triple and long) and throwing (shot put, discus, turbo javelin and softball), as well as an occasional "special" event.  On a typical evening, an age group will train/compete in three or four different events.

Youth, Intermediate, Young Men and Young Women

For athletes in Middle School and High School, this program involves more technical training.   Athletes may specialize in selected events and receive training programs designed for those events and their level of expertise.   The program is flexible and can readily be directed at the interests of those participating.
