Cross-CountryOur cross-country season is September to early December. We meet on Mondays and Thursdays at the Wayland High School track, on Wednesdays in Chelmsford and on the weekends at Nara Park in Acton. We participate in the Franklin Park series, the Wayland XC Challenge, the Mayor's Cup and the Junior Olympics meets. See the cross-country schedule for our practice and meet schedule. We realize that kids have busy schedules and most of our athletes participate in other sports. All practices and meets are optional. The club is divided into six groups based on year of birth. Age groups are set by USATF and AAU regulations. Primary, Bantam, and MidgetCross-country running is introduced to this group and they receive training for their specific event. Emphasis is placed on developing proper technique, the concept of pace, endurance and speed. Youth, Intermediate, Young Men and Young WomenFor athletes in Middle School and High School, this program involves more technical and tactical training. The athlete's program is designed around their school team commitments. |
